(क) दोनों गौरैयों को पिताजी जब घर से बाहर निकालने की कोशिश कर रहे थे तो माँ क्यों मदद नहीं कर रही थीं? बस, वह हँसती क्यों जा रही थीं?
Solution: माँ गौरैयों के प्रति बहुत दयालु थीं और वह नहीं चाहती थीं कि उनका घर उजड़े या उन्हें कोई नुकसान पहुँचे। पिताजी गौरैयों को भगाने के लिए ताली बजा रहे थे, बाहें झुला रहे थे और 'श-शू' कर रहे थे। गौरैया डरकर सिर बाहर निकालती, चीं-चीं करती और फिर घोंसले में वापस चली जाती। गौरैया की यह हरकतें माँ को बहुत मनोरंजक लग रही थीं, इसलिए वह पिताजी की मदद करने के बजाय हँसती जा रही थीं।

(ख) "देखो जी, चिड़ियों को मत निकालो।" माँ ने पिताजी से गंभीरता से यह क्यों कहा?
Solution: माँ ने पिताजी से यह बात गंभीरता से इसलिए कही क्योंकि उन्हें चिंता थी कि कहीं गौरैयों ने घोंसले में अंडे तो नहीं दे दिए हैं या बच्चे तो नहीं निकल आए हैं। माँ एक माँ होने के नाते बच्चों की तकलीफ को समझ सकती थीं और नहीं चाहती थीं कि किसी भी जीव के बच्चों को कष्ट हो।

(ग) "किसी को सचमुच बाहर निकालना हो तो उसका घर तोड़ देना चाहिए," पिताजी ने गुस्से में ऐसा क्यों कहा? क्या पिताजी के इस कथन से माँ सहमत थी? क्या तुम सहमत हो? अगर नहीं तो क्यों?
Solution: पिताजी यह बात गुस्से में इसलिए कही क्योंकि गौरैया बार-बार घर में आकर तिनके बिखेर रही थी, जिससे कालीन गंदा हो रहा था और वह इससे बहुत परेशान थे। माँ इस बात से बिल्कुल सहमत नहीं थीं। माँ को लगा कि किसी का घर तोड़ना सही नहीं है, खासकर तब जब उसमें अंडे या बच्चे हो सकते हैं। हम भी पिताजी की इस बात से सहमत नहीं हैं। प्रकृति के हर जीव का अपना घर होता है और उसे सुरक्षित रखना चाहिए। आज के समय में जब मनुष्य अपने निर्माण के कारण उनके प्राकृतिक आवास छीन रहा है, तब हमें उनकी मदद करनी चाहिए, न कि उनका घर तोड़ना चाहिए।

(घ) कमरे में फिर से शोर होने पर भी पिताजी अबकी बार गौरैया की तरफ़ देखकर मुसकुराए क्यों रहे?
Solution: जब पिताजी घोंसला तोड़ रहे थे, तो उसमें से चीं-चीं की आवाज़ आई। इससे पता चला कि घोंसले में बच्चे निकल आए थे। पिताजी को बच्चों पर दया आ गई और उन्होंने घोंसला वापस रख दिया। बाद में जब उन्होंने देखा कि गौरैया दाना लाकर अपने बच्चों को खिला रही है, तो वह मुस्कुराए। उन्हें यह देखकर खुशी हुई कि बच्चे अब बड़े हो रहे हैं और जल्द ही वे उड़ जाएँगे, जिससे समस्या अपने आप हल हो जाएगी।
