अभिनवः श्रूयताम् । विमानशास्त्रे त्रिपुरविमानस्य एवं वर्णनं समुपलभ्यते ।भागत्रयं भवेदस्य त्रिपुरस्य यथाक्रमम्,
तेषु प्रथमभागस्य सञ्चारः पृथिवीतले।
द्वितीयभागस्सञ्चारो जलस्यान्तर्बहिः क्रमात्,
तृतीयाभागस्सञ्चारस्त्वन्तरिक्षे भवेत् स्वतः।।
एवं त्रिपुरा विमानस्य प्रथमः भागः पृथिव्याः तले सञ्चरति, द्वितीयभागः जलस्य अन्तः बहिः च विहरति, तृतीयः भागः तु स्वतः एव आकाशे सञ्चरति।सचिव महोदय सभासदों और सभापतियों को नमस्कार करते हैं। वे बताते हैं कि आज उनके बीच वे प्रतिभाशाली छात्र उपस्थित हैं जिन्होंने ग्रीष्मावकाश की परियोजना कार्य में सर्वोत्तम अंक प्राप्त किए हैं। ये छात्र अपने अध्ययन के विशेष अंशों को यहाँ प्रस्तुत करेंगे। सचिव महोदय सभी से करतलध्वनि (तालियों) के साथ इन छात्रों का स्वागत और अभिनन्दन करने का आग्रह करते हैं। सभी उपस्थित लोग तालियाँ बजाकर उनका अभिनन्दन करते हैं।
इसके बाद, अभिनव नामक छात्र अपनी प्रस्तुति आरम्भ करता है। वह कहता है कि कृपया सुनें। 'विमानशास्त्र' नामक ग्रंथ में त्रिपुर विमान का वर्णन इस प्रकार मिलता है:
क्रमशः इस त्रिपुर (नामक विमान) के तीन भाग होने चाहिए। उनमें से प्रथम भाग का संचार पृथ्वी की सतह पर होता है। दूसरे भाग का संचार क्रम से जल के अंदर और बाहर होता है, और तीसरे भाग का संचार तो स्वतः ही अंतरिक्ष (आकाश) में होता है।
इस प्रकार, त्रिपुर विमान का पहला भाग पृथ्वी की सतह पर चलता है, दूसरा भाग जल के अंदर और बाहर विचरण करता है, और तीसरा भाग स्वयं ही आकाश में संचार करता है।
भाग 2: त्रिपुर विमान की कार्यप्रणाली और अदृश्यता का उल्लेख

शाालनाः पठनीया। तत्र अष्टविधं शल्यकार्यं वर्णितम् यथा- प्रियसहपाठिनः! यदि वयम् उत्तमशल्यचिकित्सकाः भवितुम् इच्छामः तर्हि सुश्रुतविरचिता सुश्रुतसंहिता अवश्यमेव इदानीं शालिनी भारतस्य प्रमुखचिकित्सकस्य सुश्रुतस्य शल्यक्रियामधिकृत्य अस्माकं ज्ञाने वृद्धिं करिष्यति।सचिव महोदय अभिनव को धन्यवाद देते हैं। वे आगे बताते हैं कि 'विमानशास्त्र' में एक ऐसे लेप (पदार्थ) का भी वर्णन किया गया है जिसके लगाने से विमान अदृश्य हो जाता था। सचिव महोदय पुनः छात्रों से करतलध्वनि द्वारा अभिनव के उत्साह को बढ़ाने का आग्रह करते हैं। सभागार तालियों की गड़गड़ाहट से गूंज उठता है।
