(i) इस प्रश्न-पत्र में प्रश्नों की संख्या 14 है। सभी प्रश्न अनिवार्य हैं।
- इस प्रश्न-पत्र में दो खण्ड हैं — खण्ड अ और ब ।
- खण्ड अ में 40 बहुविकल्पी। वस्तुपरक उप-प्रश्न पूछे गए हैं। दिए गए निर्देशों का पालन करते हुए सभी उप-प्रश्नों के उत्तर लिखिए ।
- खण्ड ब में 8 वर्णनात्मक प्रश्न पूछे गए हैं, आंतरिक विकल्प भी दिए गए हैं।
- प्रश्नों के उत्तर दिए गए निर्देशों का पालन करते हुए लिखिए।
- यथासंभव सभी प्रश्नों के उत्तर क्रमानुसार लिखिए।

- निम्नलिखित गद्यांश को ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़कर उस पर आधारित प्रश्नों के सर्वाधिक उपयुक्त उत्तर

सुख तथा दुख में साथ देने वाला तथा समान क्रिया वाला मित्र कहलाता है । वस्तुत:, मित्रता दो हृदयों को बाँधने वाली प्रेम की डोर है। मनुष्य जीवन के पथ पर एकाकी चलने में कठिनाई का अनुभव करता है, उसे ऐसे व्यक्ति की खोज रहती है जो उसके हर्ष और विषाद में साथ देने वाला हो, जिसके सामने वह मन-प्राणों की कोई लिपि गुप्त न रहने दे, जिसके ऊपर अपने विश्वास की दीवार खड़ी कर सके । अत: मित्रता मन की वह प्यास है जिसके लिए मनुष्य तड़पता रहता है और वह व्यक्ति बड़ा ही भाग्यवान् है जिसकी यह प्यास बुझ जाती है । इसलिए मित्रता का बड़ा गुणगान किया जाता है ।
बाइबिल में कहा गया है कि ‘एक विश्वासी मित्र जीवन के लिए महौषध है’। सच्चे मित्र जीवन में आनन्द की वर्षा करते हैं। सन्मित्र जीवन के निराधार सागर में सुदृढ़ कर्णधार की भाँति प्रेम नाव लेकर उस पार लगा देते हैं।
किन्तु यदि मित्रता असली हो तब तो वह स्वर्गीय प्रकाश है, यदि नकली हो तो नारकीय अंधकार । सच्ची मित्रता फॉस्फोरस की तरह ज्योति फैलाकर मित्र के संकट के अंधकार को क्षणभर में दूर कर देती है। सज्जनों से मित्रता की छाया दोपहर के बाद की छाया की तरह बढ़ती जाती है। इसके विपरीत दुष्टों से मित्रता सुबह की छाया की तरह पहले तो काफी बड़ी लगती है लेकिन बीच दोपहर में ही छोटी हो जाती है । अत: मित्र के चयन में सावधानी रखनी चाहिए।
सच्चा मित्र, मित्र की सदा भलाई चाहता है, उसके लिए अपने प्राणों की आहुति देने के लिए भी तैयार रहता है । वह बराबर अपने मित्र को बुरे मार्ग पर जाने से रोकता है तथा सुपथ पर चलाने का प्रयास करता है। ठीक इसके विपरीत कपटी मित्र बड़े घातक होते हैं, उनकी मित्रता केवल शब्दों की मित्रता होती है। ये मित्र को ललकारकर आगे तो बढ़ा देते हैं किन्तु पीछे से लंगी मारने में इन्हें न संकोच होता है और न लाज ही लगती है। मित्रों के पास ये तभी तक मँडराते रहते हैं जब तक उनके पास लुटाने को पैसे होते हैं किन्तु दीनता और संकट में साथ छोड़ देते हैं। ऐसे मित्रों को उस कुंभ के समान छोड़ देना चाहिए जिसके ऊपर तो द्ध हो और नीचे विष भरा हो । वे सचमुच भाग्यशाली हैं जिन्हें कोई सच्चा मित्र मिल जाता है । समान पुरुषों की मिताई हो जाय तो अच्छा, किन्तु यदि असमान स्थिति वाले सहृदय लोगों में वह मित्रता हो तो क्या कहना !
