Solution: जेठ के महीने की दोपहर की अत्यधिक प्रचंड गर्मी के कारण छाया भी स्वयं के लिए छाया खोजने लगती है। सूर्य की किरणें इतनी तीव्र होती हैं कि वे छाया को भी छोटा करती जाती हैं, जिससे यह प्रतीति होती है कि छाया भी कहीं और आश्रय ढूंढ रही है।

बिहारी की नायिका यह क्यों कहती है 'कहिहै सबु तेरौ हियौ, मेरे हिय की बात' — स्पष्ट कीजिए।
Solution: बिहारी की नायिका अपने प्रियतम को अपने विरह की व्यथा बताना चाहती है, परन्तु प्रत्यक्ष रूप से कहने में उसे संकोच हो रहा है। जब वह उसे लिखने का प्रयास करती है, तो उसके हाथ काँपने लगते हैं और आँखों से आँसू बहने लगते हैं। किसी अन्य के माध्यम से संदेश भेजने में भी उसे लज्जा आती है। इसलिए, वह यह सोचती है कि उसका प्रियतम भी उसी की तरह विरह की पीड़ा झेल रहा होगा। अतः वह यह उम्मीद करती है कि उसका प्रियतम उसके हृदय की बात को उसके अपने हृदय की स्थिति को देखकर स्वयं ही समझ जाएगा।

सच्चे मन में राम बसते हैं—दोहे के संदर्भानुसार स्पष्ट कीजिए।
Solution: इस दोहे के अनुसार, ईश्वर की प्राप्ति केवल बाहरी धार्मिक आडंबरों जैसे माला जपना, माथे पर तिलक लगाना या छापे लगाना आदि से नहीं होती। कवि बिहारी का मानना है कि ये कर्मकांड दिखावा मात्र हैं। भगवान राम तो केवल सच्चे, निर्मल और एकाग्र मन से की गई भक्ति से ही प्रसन्न होते हैं और ऐसे भक्तों के हृदय में ही निवास करते हैं।

गोपियाँ श्रीकृष्ण की बाँसुरी क्यों छिपा लेती हैं?
Solution: गोपियाँ श्रीकृष्ण से प्रेम करती हैं और उनसे बातें करना चाहती हैं, उन्हें रिझाना चाहती हैं। श्रीकृष्ण को अपनी बाँसुरी अत्यंत प्रिय है और वे सदैव उसी में लीन रहते हैं। गोपियों को लगता है कि कृष्ण अपनी बाँसुरी के कारण ही उनसे दूर रहते हैं या उनका ध्यान बाँसुरी पर अधिक रहता है। इसलिए, वे कृष्ण का ध्यान अपनी ओर आकर्षित करने और उनसे संवाद स्थापित करने के उद्देश्य से उनकी बाँसुरी छिपा लेती हैं।
