- इस प्रश्न-पत्र में चार खंड हैं- क, ख, ग और घ/
- खंड-क में अपठित गद्यांश से प्रश्न पूछे गए हैं, जिनके उत्तर दिए गए निर्देशों का पालन करते हुए दीजिए।
- खंड-ख में व्यावहारिक व्याकरण से प्रश्न पूछे गए हैं, आंतरिक विकल्प भी दिए गए हैं।
- खंड-ग पाठ्यपुस्तक पर आधारित है, निर्देशानुसार उत्तर दीजिए।

- निम्नलिखित गद्यांश को ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़कर दिए गए प्रश्नों के उत्तर लिखिए :
जलवायु परिवर्तन के साथ जैसे-जैसे मौसम का ‘पैटर्न’ समुद्र के स्तर को प्रभावित कर रहा है, नदी प्रणालियों में भूकम्प से होने वाले महाविनाशकारी परिवर्तनों को समझना अपरिहार्य हो चला है। धरती लगातार हिल रही है। पहाड़ों में दरारें पड़ रही हैं। नदियाँ वैसे भी, विशेष रूप से मार्ग और प्रवाह में परिवर्तन के प्रति संवेदनशील होती हैं। भूकम्प से नदी मार्ग में परिवर्तन के विनाशकारी परिणाम हो सकते हैं, जिससे संपत्ति, कृषि और बुनियादी ढाँचे को भारी नुकसान पहुँच सकता है। हाल में, जब अध्येताओं की एक टीम ने ढाका से सौ किलोमीटर दक्षिण में नदी की पुरानी मुख्यधारा खोजने के लिए सैटेलाइट चित्रों का इस्तेमाल किया तो उस इलाके में भूकम्पीय संकेत-चिह्न मिले। इस क्षेत्र में गंगा और ब्रह्मपुत्र की प्लेटें करीब होने से यहाँ अकसर तेज भूकम्प आते रहे हैं। डेल्टा वाले नदी क्षेत्र में उच्च तीव्रता का भूकम्प आने पर प्रवाह का रास्ता पूरी तरह बदल सकता है। वहाँ तबाही इसलिए बहुत भयावह होगी, क्योंकि अब उस क्षेत्र में लाखों की घनी बसावट है।
भूकम्पीय गतिविधियों और नदियों के प्रवाह पर बारीक नजर रखे हुए वैज्ञानिक लगातार ऐसे जोखिम वाले तमाम वैश्विक क्षेत्रों की पहचान करने में जुटे हैं। सब कुछ के बावजूद, किसी भूकम्प के सटीक मापदंडों या किसी भी क्षण नदी के बहाव के बारे में पूर्वानुमान लगाना असंभव है।
