सामान्य निर्देश :
निम्नलिखित निर्देशों को बहुत सावधानी से पढ़िए और उनका सख़्ती से अनुपालन कीजिए :
(i) इस प्रश्न-पत्र में कुल 14 प्रश्न हैं। सभी प्रश्नों के उत्तर देना अनिवार्य है।
- इस प्रश्न-पत्र में दो खंड हैं - खंड-‘अ’ और खंड-‘ब’।
- खंड-‘अ’ में 40 बहुविकल्पी/वस्तुपरक उपप्रश्न पूछे गए हैं, सभी प्रश्नों के उत्तर लिखने हैं।
- खंड-‘ब’ में 08 वर्णनात्मक प्रश्न पूछे गए हैं। प्रश्नों के उचित आंतरिक विकल्प दिए गए हैं।
- प्रश्नों के उत्तर दिए गए निर्देशों का पालन करते हुए लिखिए।
- यथासंभव दोनों खंडों के प्रश्नों के उत्तर क्रमशः लिखिए।

प्रगति मैदान में बहुत से मेले लगते हैं, लेकिन विश्व पुस्तक मेला का अपना आनंद है। यह मेला नहीं, पुस्तकों के साथ जीने, उन्हें महसूस करने का उत्सव है । बीते तीन दशकों से, जब से सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी का प्रादुर्भाव हुआ है, मुद्रण तकनीक से जुड़े लोग इसी भय में जीते रहे हैं कि कहीं कंप्यूटर, टी.वी., सी.डी. की दुनिया छपे हुए अक्षरों को अपनी बहुरंगी चकाचौंध में उदरस्थ न कर ले । जैसे-जैसे चिंताएँ बढ़ी, पुस्तकों का बाजार भी बढ़ता गया । उसे बढ़ना ही था – आखिर साक्षरता दर बढ़ रही है, ज्ञान पर आधारित जीविकोपार्जन करने वालों की संख्या बढ़ रही है। पुस्तकें इंसान को वैचारिक और मानसिक दुविधाओं के प्रश्नों का विकल्प देती हैं।
असल में विश्व पुस्तक मेला सिर्फ किताब खरीदने-बेचने की जगह नहीं है। यह पुस्तक प्रेमियों की जरूरत को एक स्थान पर पूरा करने का केवल बाजार नहीं है क्योंकि केवल पुस्तक खरीदने के लिए तो दर्जनों वेबसाइट उपलब्ध हैं, जो घर बैठे किताबें पहुँचा देती हैं, बल्कि एक उत्सव है । दरअसल, पुस्तक भी इंसानी प्यार की तरह होती है, जिससे जब तक बात न करो, सामने न हो, स्पर्श न करो, अपनत्व का अहसास नहीं होता । फिर, तुलनात्मकता के लिए एक ही स्थान पर एक साथ इतने सजीव उत्पाद मिलना एक बेहतर प्रचार का विकल्प और मनोवृत्ति भी है।
