पाठ्यक्रम का उद्देश्य- राष्ट्र निर्माण एवं विकास में छात्र छात्राओं को उन्मुख करना, उनमें चरित्र निर्माण, नेतृत्व के गुण और विषेष दक्षता दिलाने के साथ-साथ उनमें सामाजिक राजनैतिक, आर्थिक, पर्यावरणीय स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षा एवं आपदा प्रबंधन जैसी समस्याओं और चुनौतियों के लिए जागरूक करना है। जिसमें इनका भविष्य उज्ज्वल एवं उन्नतिशील तथा अनुशासित बन सके।
राष्ट्रीय कैंडेंट कोर विषय में 70 अंकों का एक लिखित प्रश्न पत्र होगा इसका उत्तीर्ण अंक 23 होगा, आंतरिक मूल्यांकन 30 अंक का होगा, इसका उत्तीर्ण अंक 10 होगा लिखित तथा प्रोजेक्ट कार्य में उत्तीर्ण होना अनिवार्य है। इकाई–1 राष्ट्रीय कैंडेट कोर 12 अंक
