कबीरदास इस पद में ईश्वर के एकत्व और सर्वव्यापकता का प्रतिपादन करते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि मैंने तो यह जान लिया है कि ईश्वर केवल एक ही है। जो लोग ईश्वर को दो मानते हैं, अर्थात् आत्मा और परमात्मा को अलग-अलग समझते हैं, वे अज्ञानी हैं और नरक के भागी बनेंगे क्योंकि उन्होंने ईश्वर के वास्तविक स्वरूप को नहीं पहचाना है।
कवि ईश्वर की एकरूपता को समझाने के लिए विभिन्न उदाहरण प्रस्तुत करते हैं। जैसे, एक बढ़ई लकड़ी को काट सकता है, लेकिन उसमें लगी आग को नहीं काट सकता। इसी प्रकार, ईश्वर सभी के हृदय में विद्यमान है और वही सभी का स्वरूप धारण करता है। हवा, पानी, प्रकाश - ये सब एक ही तत्व से बने हैं और सबमें व्याप्त हैं। सारी मिट्टी से ही अनेक बर्तन बनते हैं, और उन सबको एक ही कुम्हार ने गढ़ा है।
कबीर मनुष्य को संबोधित करते हुए कहते हैं कि इस संसार को देखकर मोहित मत हो। यह माया ही है जो संसार को भ्रमित करती है। जो मनुष्य इस माया के जाल से मुक्त होकर निर्भय हो जाता है, उसे कोई भय या कष्ट नहीं सताता। ऐसे व्यक्ति को ही कबीर दीवाना (परमात्मा में लीन) कहते हैं।
